finding inspiration in the littlest places

southern california is a beautiful place.  growing up on the east coast i still delight at how different the landscape is and the variety of vegetation.  the flowers that seem to grow wild all over los angeles add to the beauty of our urban landscape providing an inspiring environment to nurture creativity.  about six weeks ago i first saw these flowers blooming that looked like tiny bouquets.  they're called lantanas.

found this little beauty outside a bbq joint in venice.

i'm drawn to all things miniature and these little guys have been popping up in different colors all over the region.

proof of film's superiority of consumer grade digital:  my iPhone, as seen here, could barely register the vibrancy of the colors.  some nice kodak portra vc (r.i.p.) would have caught every nuance.  sigh.

a little over a week ago i attended a wedding in palm springs.  as little souvenirs each guest had a mini eames at their place setting!!!!   of course, i made sure no one left theirs behind and if they weren't feeling it made sure they knew it would go to a good cause if they donated it to the "quinzee making cool mini shit" fund.  so here is my mini eames next to my mini bouquet (lantana).

i've been brainstorming ever since for shots to create with mini flora incorporated.
