Over the past year I have found myself going to Joshua Tree often to get away from the crazy day to day of L.A. life. As always I take my Holga along with some expired slide film to see what other worldy images I can create, especially in a place that looks like Mars. I plan to make a new gallery of the finished pieces soon after I decide if a standalone image or mixed media approach with gold acrylic overpaint is working best. While documenting the park I also learned that Joshua Trees are endangered because of global warming. Even more reason to celebrate these unique organisms while we can and maybe reminding others of their beauty help keep them around a little longer. Here are some of my faves from recent excursions.
